From baguette snacks and ajillo to half-and-half pizzas with a choice of sauces, there is plenty to choose from at this bar and grill, which also serves cocktails.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
When choosing just one pizza feels impossible, a half-and-half lets you combine two. One order paired prosciutto and a soft-boiled egg with bacon and cheese, with a choice of tomato, white or mentaiko sauce. One diner also described dipping the crust into the egg yolk. It’s a good option if you’d like to try a little of two different flavours.
Start with a baguette snack. Options include a granulated-sugar rusk-style version and mentaiko, and some diners have enjoyed choosing both sweet and savoury varieties. One review of the shrimp and broccoli ajillo mentioned wishing they had ordered extra baguette to soak up the oil. The pumpkin and corn gratin was described as piping hot, with stretchy cheese and a memorable sweetness from the corn. The menu lends itself to sharing a few small plates and adding another dish that catches your eye.
After a more substantial meal, some diners have opted for the anchovy-butter pasta. It comes with mizuna, and one person found it easy to eat even after a run of creamy, cheesy dishes. It’s an option for rounding off the meal. Food is the focus, but this is also a bar and grill with a wide choice of cocktails; some diners say it can be hard to decide what to order. Choosing a drink to go with your meal is part of the experience.
The restaurant is on the 5th floor of a building just north of Sanjo on Kawaramachi Street. Some visitors mention the view from the windows and the sofa seating. There are also table and terrace seats, making it an option for a relaxed meal and conversation or a gathering with friends.
